Happy Memorial day and Happy Birthday to my sister. (Being the younger sibling of a soccer playin’ fool – Mr Ban not I – can sometimes be a drag especially when your birthday falls around the memorial day holiday and all the requisite soccer tournaments.)
The boy and I celebrated our memorial day by getting up bright and early and heading over to Home Depot. Our wonderfully generous friends gave us a fair number of gift cards and all of them to Home Depot so we set out to buy the supplies for the first big project we want to tackle – the closets. Hopefully by the end of June all of the 8′ closets in this house will have nice hanging space and shelf space for the clothes and other items. We also picked up some items for repelling bugs, weeds, removing wall paper, painting and planting flowers. All in all we spent $25. 😉 Not too shabby if you ask me.
At dinner time we got together with my family to take my sister out to dinner for her birthday. Then we came back to the house to eat cake and open gifts. She was quite pleased with her presents and the cake was yummy. (The boy and I made it and he decorated it.) After quite the busy weekend though it’s lights out at 930 pm so that we stand a chance at waking up in time for work in the morning.
