Yellow!

For my 4th of July four day weekend we transformed this sadly purple room into a vibrant happy yellow room. :) This room was one of the two rooms I was less than thrilled with when we bought this house over 2 yr ago. you can see how pressing the matter was to get it remedied. ;) The number one priority was the 1/2 bathroom on the main level and then updating this room to look like someone older than 10 lives in it. :)

So here’s the yellow! (Oh and it’s brighter and cheerier in person)

And some before pictures. I happen to think the Lendrum wheel and the Christmas tree still look nice! :)

Sticks N Stitches 2010

Sorry it’s taken me so long to do this post. I have no good excuse and well we all know about excuses and how everyone has one. ;) At any rate, Sticks n Stitches was great this year! For me as the organizer it was a bit more relaxed on game day which was really nice. I feel like we had a pretty good flow for handing out goodie bags and raffling off the prizes. It did become a bit hairy about two weeks before the game when our ticket sales jumped from 48 to 92 to 112 to finally land at 148 tickets sold. It was definitely our best year yet for tickets sold but hoo boy do y’all know how to give me a heart attack. ;) Grant with the Blue Jackets was very awesome in scaring up enough seats for the majority of us to sit together.

Here’s a pretty good shot of us right before the doors opened:

The boy, Myself, Katy and Katy's sister ready to go.

And here are a couple shots of everyone getting their bags:

Sadly the Blue Jackets didn’t win. Although it was a closely contested game with the Chicago Blackhawks pulling it out in the last few minutes to win 6-5. I am updating the pictures and goodies over on the event page. It should all be up by the end of this weekend. (If not today, it depends on how much other work I get done)

We’re really looking forward to next year’s event. I am hoping to get us the Sky Terrace. The one caveat to that is I really really need people to be willing to purchase their tickets earlier than the week before the game. [Preferably a month or three before the game kind of like one does when they decide to get OSU football tickets or to go see their favorite artist play.] This will allow us to make sure we have enough seats and goody bags to go around and gives us more bargaining power. If you would like to be contacted for next year’s event as soon as the date is picked please drop me a line so I can add you to the list.

Absence

Oh, why hello! Did you miss me? Let’s just say time ran away with me. Sticks N Stitches went really well. I hope to make the time to do a proper post about that this weekend. In other exciting news, for those of you who may have known, The Boy was laid off last April. Yesterday was his first day at his new job and we’re both just thrilled. Although it does mean we won’t be spending every waking moment together, it’ll probably be good for our upcoming marriage. Add a little mystery back in. ;) I hope to be around here more regularly again. I may even do some updates on the wedding planning. Just as a reference to anyone madly googling for ideas.

On a side note, it’s been almost 3 yrs since I started this blog and my 3 yrs of hosting is about up. Leave me a note if you have any good suggestions for hosting companies to switch to. I am currently using Blue Host but the cost has gone up by $90 for the 3 yr bracket. I would like to stay somewhere around $4.50 a month if that’s even possible anymore. Have a great day!

Sticks N Stitches Update (again)

I was informed Tuesday that we had sold out the upper bowl and that the only seats left  for the game were in the lower bowl. My contact with the Blue Jackets just emailed me to let me know that management had allowed him to release 50 more seats in the upper bowl at the $26 price point! So if you wanted to go but didn’t want to pay for a ticket in the lower bowl call Grant at the Blue Jackets now! 614.246.7224

Sticks N Stitches Update

We’re about a week and a half out from this year’s Sticks n Stitches with the Columbus Blue Jackets and we’ve already sold out our section in the upper bowl. Since the game is a very popular one for the Blue Jackets – great time of day and a worthy opponent – the upper bowl is now also sold out. The only tickets remaining for the game are in the lower bowl and come with a considerable price increase since our group discount isn’t valid in those sections. According to the gentleman with the Blue Jackets that I am working with, we’ve had inquiries so far for up to 136 tickets. I am starting to get a bit hopeful for next year’s game. If we can boost the number of attendees to 200 that should allow us to reserve the sky box and have more room.

If you’ve come over from Cast On or anywhere else please drop me a note in the comments to tell me how you heard about us. I am still in shock as our ticket sales went from 47 last weds to 126 tonight. That’s a huge boost! (and it wasn’t all my friends buying theirs at the last minute ;) )

I can’t wait to see everyone next Saturday! Go Jackets!
