Today I woke up and didn’t knit. I did some work tasks for folks back East. Then I dashed out the door with my shirt buttoned wrong (I was off by a button) and headed off to training. We had an hour for lunch again today so I accomplished .5 a repeat on my lunch break. Then we finished a little early today and I was able to finish another repeat before dinner. After dinner I took off and went to Fancy Tiger to knit and hang out at craft night. I knit on my scarf until I ran out of yarn. Then I pulled out my other knitting project and cast-on for Liesl. I knit four rows there and then headed back to the motel. Now I am trying to stay awake and get this update. out. Have a great day and g’night.
End of day - 3 repeats. 11 repeats total. Just a little above target.
Hopefully I can keep this up. Then perhaps I will be through two balls when I return home.

I woke up early this morning and began knitting. I was trying to finish the .5 repeat I needed to bring me to 6 repeats for 3 days. I got it done and started on another repeat but then dashed out the door to go to my training.
During my lunch break that was just slightly over an hour I worked on my knitting and had myself somewhere around 6.5 repeats. Because my day started so early I was done fairly early in the day with work. I went back to the hotel to check on Raverly for the addresses of the shops I went to two times ago when I was here and then headed out to knit at Lambshoppe for the evening. As usual the ladies at the shop were very helpful and friendly. There was a large table of regulars knitting so I joined them. Many of them were working on some Celtic socks by Cabin Fever which are similar to my Celtic cabled scarf. I may have to try out those socks for myself sometime. One lady was knitting a sock out of possum. It was gorgeous and soft. I may have to try and find that fiber sometime. I comfortably finished the 1.5 repeats I needed and then I perused the shop for some goodies. It was a good day.
End of day - 2.5 repeats. Total repeats 8. Back on target.

Today I woke up feeling under the weather. Started to do the last bit of work I needed done for my colleagues before I head out to Denver this evening. My computer blue screened, I got annoyed and went back to bed. Eventually i got up and finished the work but I have been dragging most of the day. I did watch the Olympics and relax with the boy but no knitting during that time frame. I just wasn’t feeling up to it.
Once the boy dropped me off at the airport I pulled the knitting out. I had to work on my allotment for yesterday and today so I wasn’t too overly upset when they issued a ground stop and told our flight we couldn’t leave for Denver (a 3 hr flight) because there were currently strong thunderstorms in Denver. After around a 45 minute delay (45 extra minutes of knitting) we took off and were on our way. Of course then when we landed in Denver we couldn’t get to our gate because of the “traffic jam” and someone else was in our gate. After another 15-20 minutes of extra knitting time I got to the gate and made it off the plane. I think I accomplished 2.5 repeats on the plane.
My colleague picked me up at the airport and we were then off to the motel. Yeah, motel. It smells weird. Anyway once in my room I knit another repeat (and ripped some work and reknit - I need to stop doing that). Now I must force myself to bed. I do need to be at least somewhat rested for my training in the morning.
End of day - 3.5 repeats completed. 5.5 repeats total.

Not much knitting was completed today. I spent my early morning painting a mural on the local hospital (my handiwork is the bench if you know which hospital I am referring to - and the knitting influence that will turn up later in the mural.) Then I came home and did work for 2 hours. Then ran off for another round of quilting with the ladies. My t-shirt quilt is starting to come together. However I have 3 big empty spots that must be filled. So now I need three more shirts. I will pick one up in Denver this week and perhaps get one from Baltimore whenever I am in DC next.
I came home in the evening to get knitting done but I ended up spending around an hour on the phone with my great Aunt. It was so lovely to sit on my porch swing and just chat with her. I finally got into the knitting when the boy came home and we left to go out with a colleague of his. I took my knitting but we were at a bar watching a UFC fight and the Olympics. There was just no good place for me to set my knitting and the folks standing to our left were fall down drunk and obnoxious so I didn’t want to risk it.
End of day 2 - .5 repeat. What? Clearly I will be knitting a lot on the plane tom’w.

I cast on for the Ravelympics today at 8am. Ripped out at 845 am. Re cast-on. Yanked the needle out and threw the yarn in a corner around 9am. Then picked it back up during my lunch break, picked up my stitches reknit two rows and things started going better.
In the evening I attended Team KnitGang’s opening ceremony event. Then most of the team scooted out to the lake for the weekend. I came home and watched the rest of the ceremony with the boy. I managed to walk in as one of the countries of his ancestry were filing in.
It’s kind of fun to recognize the colors that I often see in some of his family’s belongings.
End of day one - 2 repeats done.
Olympic goal - daily average of 2 repeats.
I am on target
