Location, location, location

Well we went and visited a location for the ceremony tonight. It’s really pretty and really fits our personalities. Hopefully we will be able to find a priest to work with us. After our site visit we met up with my mom at the bookstore in German village. I love love love that bookstore. Although my rumbly stomach meant we couldn’t stay there as long as I would normally have wanted to. Wish us luck :)

Planning

So now that I am home and have had some time to breathe I am making calls all around to try and get numbers and estiamtes so the boy and I can begin to plan our wedding budget. We’re trying to find locations that are all inclusive so that our guests won’t have to travel really far. Well any farther than they already will to get here. :) Hopefully things will fall into place in the near future and we will be able to set a date. :)

Shopping

So Wednesday en route to the parking garage for work I passed a men’s store that had a gorgeous wedding dress in the front window and commented thusly. We then proceeded to walk past that dress two more times with me stopping to look at it and commenting on how pretty it was. My colleagues were very encouraging and kept telling me that I should go try it on when we had some downtime. Once we realized it wasn’t actually being sold in that store but in a companion store I took a picture of the sign for the other store that accompanied the dress in the window.

Today we finished up our work at the office around 230pm and we couldn’t check into our new hotel yet so we headed into town. My first stop was the wool shop but of course they closed 2 hrs early today, just because I was in town. ;) Then we headed over to the jewelry shop to pick something up for someone and I asked the jeweler if he could tell me where the shop was in my picture. It was actually very close to where we currently were so we stopped in and found out I needed an appointment but they told me to try back in about half an hour. We grabbed some food and came back and then proceeded to spend about an hour trying on wedding dresses.

I tried on 4 in all. 2 looked great, 1 wasn’t suited for a wedding but I would totally wear it in a vibrant color to the next gala event I go to. (Could someone please invite me to a gala event so I have a reason to get that dress? ;) ) The 4th dress, well it was “whimsical”, completely not my style and looked silly. But I have been told to try on everything just to be sure. :P Now all I have to do is go back to the States and find a similar style dress and I should be in business. Oh and it would probably help if they were also less expensive. Turns out I was trying on some couture dresses. It’s no secret that I have champagne taste! ;)
