We woke up to snow covered roof tops and cars this morning. Then it melted away and now it’s snowing again with big fluffy snowflakes. I guess winter really is here to stay. That should provide us with good excuses to use our woodburning fireplace however we don’t have any tools. The boy seems to think that *someone* will get us some for Christmas. Someone if you are out there please add them to your list.
Thanks!
Here’s my poor attempt at taking pictures of the snow falling:

Snowfall - The first for Fall 2008

Snowfall on the roses.
For anyone counting it did snow (flurries) yesterday but I didn’t see it stick to anything, plus we were ignoring the snow’s existence as we were foolishly not dressed for the weather. But that’s our little secret.
For awhile now I have been reading Knitting Scholar’s blog. She has fun reviews of knitting books that give you a good idea of what is inside them pattern and content-wise. (and yes there can be a difference) A short while ago (not quite 2 weeks!) she posted her first contest. You should definitely go check it out. Entries are open until this Saturday November 15, 2008. Good luck!
As part of NaKniSweMo I am knitting up Francis Revisited. This morning before work I bound off the body. Two sleeves and a cowl left to go.
This is knitting up quickly. I am knitting it as well as some holiday gift items and I only started this last week.

Francis body bound off.
Last weekend while the boy was gallivanting around Japan I got together with my pal to finish up the top of my quilt. The *couple* hours stretched into about 8 but it’s done. Now all I have to do is buy some batting, backing and some tape because I want to put it on the seam. That will all get done later. Later = umm probably next year as there are a few holiday items left to knit up. Pictures:

Quilt top all sewn up 2.
This most recent weekend produced a bunny body, head and one ear as well as a bust for Francis. More details to come later.
While visiting with family for my Great Aunt Rose’s funeral we went on a journey to WEBS. My great aunt Millie kept finding these wonderful fibers that were so soft. She doesn’t however knit. She says she knows all these wonderful people who knit or crochet and just give things to her because she’s so gracious. It’s true, I gave her the first scarf I knit because she was so crucial in helping me find someone to teach me to knit and she is always so excited to receive something homemade or heartfelt. So my mom pulled me aside and said I will buy the yarn you just find something to knit for her.
So she did and I did and you can see the pics below!

unmodeled cowl. The color isn't so accurate here.
I made her a cowl because she lives in New England and it’s cold in the winters. She said that she likes to have something warm on her neck to keep the chill away. Oh and I haven’t mailed it yet, so if you know her don’t spoil the surprise. Thanks!
