Sticks N Stitches Update

We’re about a week and a half out from this year’s Sticks n Stitches with the Columbus Blue Jackets and we’ve already sold out our section in the upper bowl. Since the game is a very popular one for the Blue Jackets – great time of day and a worthy opponent – the upper bowl is now also sold out. The only tickets remaining for the game are in the lower bowl and come with a considerable price increase since our group discount isn’t valid in those sections. According to the gentleman with the Blue Jackets that I am working with, we’ve had inquiries so far for up to 136 tickets. I am starting to get a bit hopeful for next year’s game. If we can boost the number of attendees to 200 that should allow us to reserve the sky box and have more room.

If you’ve come over from Cast On or anywhere else please drop me a note in the comments to tell me how you heard about us. I am still in shock as our ticket sales went from 47 last weds to 126 tonight. That’s a huge boost! (and it wasn’t all my friends buying theirs at the last minute ;) )

I can’t wait to see everyone next Saturday! Go Jackets!

Buy Your Tickets

Just a friendly neighborly reminder to buy your tickets for Sticks n Stitches. Right now we’ve only sold 8 tickets and I know I had a list of about 70 people that planned on going. Where are all of you guys? :) Also, if you know of any vendors who would like to donate to the goody bags or donate door prizes that would be wonderful. As it stands right now there are about 10 people who will get all the loot. :P I look forward to seeing y’all there!

More organizing and housekeeping

Today wasn’t a very awesome bloggable day. I had a grumbly tummy most of the day which I decided to combat with an hour nap after work. The nap was good especially since I had a puppy to snuggle with. After the nap I got the boy’s birthday presents all wrapped up so he won’t accidentally find them in my cleaning frenzy. I also started to get things around for a finishing party we’re having in two weeks. I even grabbed my mending box out of the closet to see what all needed to be taken care of. It turns out I had a brown pantsuit, brown slacks, 2 black sweaters, a blue top and a red turtle neck that would all be very useful things to wear right now just hanging out in the mending box. I think I will go ahead and see if I can’t get on the ball and get those fixed up. Heck I can’t even locate the problem on one of the black sweaters.

After that discovery and my second or third (doh!) moment of the week I decided to focus on sending out requests for donations for Sticks N Stitches. Keep your fingers crossed that I am not the only one going into work tom’w! ;) Hopefully we’ll hear back soon.

Quick Hit – Sticks N Stitches update and other random musings

Things I accomplished today and/or have going on. (What an awesome lead in…)

  • So at the gentle nudging of a member of the Mid Ohio Knitting guild I created an event page on Ravelry for Sticks N Stitches. I can’t believe I forgot to do that! You can find the page here. That should be a much more effective way for me to get an idea of attendance levels. :)
  • I have a napping boy and dog on the couch. It’s pretty cute.
  • Karaoke is in store tonight to amuse the Iowan who is in town for the holidays.
  • I also need to set about looking at stitch dictionaries but I am feeling rather lazy.
  • Ravelry has new sorting features for stash yarns. I love it. I also love looking at my stash by color because well for some strange reason I just love my color sense! ;) Shocking I am sure :P Not to mention all the awesome yellows I found recently are all at the top of my page saying “hello good morning it’s a beautiful cheery day!”
  • I managed to locate the recipe for dinner rolls for Thanksgiving dinner Thursday at the in-laws. They look so delicious. :D (the rolls not my in-laws!)
  • There are 6 completed repeats on the Christmas knitting I am working on. I think there may be 15 repeats total. We shall see. I am only knitting until I run out of yarn. :P I would like to get this finished this week. Thankfully there will be some car trips and oh that’s right a four day weekend!!!
  • I have potentially 3 more knitting projects and a crochet project to be done before Christmas. Anyone taking bets on whether I will finish? :P
  • The boy made dinner tonight. Potato and double corn chowder in bread bowls. It was awesome. Oh and he went to the grocery store and bought me yummy juice. Win!
  • On that note I need to wake those two up so we can go to karaoke.
