You’ve seen this sweater before in my post about not actually paying attention to cable charts. haha.
This is my other test knit for Ysolda’s book “The Rhinebeck Sweater“. It’s Thea Colman’s design – Beekman Tavern. I knit mine in Malabrigo Rios (one of my new favorite yarns) since the yarn called for in the pattern – Foxhill Farm Cormo – can only be purchased at Rhinebeck or the farm. The cormo is amazingly soft and warm and I plan to buy a sweater quantity at Rhinebeck this year. The Rios though gives the sweater a different look and is also quite warm, despite the center cable panel.
I made some slight adjustments to my sweater, continuing the raglan decreases and removing a couple rows from the neck ribbing. I don’t have a button yet for the collar. I tried to find some while in Scotland but came up empty handed. I’ll have to poke around Rhinebeck to see what I can find.
I love the details of this sweater. I’m also a huge sucker for cables.
You’ll see me running around Rhinebeck wearing this sweater this year. And quite possibly making some silly face like this one. š
I can’t wait to see everyone’s lovely Rhinebeck sweater creations. I’ll have to try to remember to get pictures. See you there!
I didn’t know you were in a button quandary!
Will grab a few from my vintage stash that could do the job….. Thanks again for making such a beautiful version of my sweater and for taking such adorable pics! I can’t wait to meet you this weekend :)))
The sweater is adorable!! I love all the patterns and the behind story of this book and can’t wait to have a copy in my hand. Have a wonderful time in Rhineback and give a huge to all the precious wonderful designers you’ll meet there š
