Today we spent most of the day hanging out with the boy’s paternal grandparents. We did some Wii bowling which Grandpa got into. It was kind of awesome to hear him ask the boy if he wanted to keep playing. The boy was delighted to continue playing and then his dad rejoined them. I took down all my recently completed knitting projects to show Grandma. She approved my workmanship as usual.
It really was a very nice day. But now I am exhausted and must go to bed. Pictures below.

This morning I hung out with my little. We went to brunch and then wandered around town ending with a short nature walk in a park. I also surprised myself by being able to pull myself up onto monkey bars and hanging upside down.
I should try that more often, it will help keep up my back strength as well as make me feel good about myself!
After I dropped her off it was just too gorgeous a day to pass up. So I called the boy and told him to ready the motorcycle. We went and “got lost” for about an hour and a half. It was great! We also got to really test out the headsets I bought him for Christmas. They worked really well and I could hear him with no trouble at all. As the driver he tends to get a lot more wind noise so when we’re at speed he can hear me talking but not always hear what I am saying.
Then my good friend Orchid came over to help me work on processing the fleece I bought at MDSW. First we rolled the fleece out and decided what went where on the sheep. The boy came over to verify the softness quotient.
Then we got to work pulling out locks and placing them into lingerie bags to go in the wash. I took the occasional break to educate the boy on the crimp and other characteristics.
We then filled my washer with hot water and let the locks soak. After the soak we spun the excess water out and laid them on the table and drying rack to air dry. They came really clean and I can’t wait to play with them and figure out what I can do.
Pictures below.

Tonight we went back over to the boy’s parents’ house for dinner. His Aunt A was in town from VA and so we wandered over to visit with her. Food was good, company was good and the evening ended with sitting out front on the porch. What more could you ask for?
Today is also his Grandma & Grandpa G’s 72nd anniversary!!! How amazing is that? They were married at 23 and 21 years old, so you can do the math to see how much longevity runs in his family.
My only hope is that some day we may be able to make it to 72 yrs married.
Of course we’ll be pushing 100 if we do! We’ll be heading down to see them on Sunday to celebrate.
Happy Anniversary!

Knit night was mostly a bust this week. The upside was that I got a bunch of thank you cards written before anyone showed up. Alas only one person showed and she was only able to stay for a short while. In the short while that she was there I was able to figure out where I was on my fancy scarf, knit a few rows, miss a decrease, rip/tink/ladder back and fix the decrease then something else got botched and I had to rip back the whole repeat. While trying to rip back the whole repeat the yarn snagged and broke. So I tossed the scarf back in my bag and left for the evening. I was pretty cranky when I got home but chatting with my good pal C led me to realize that the blanket I had wanted to start a little bit ago really wasn’t as complicated as I was pretending and so I cast on the blanket, made other plans for the yarn, ripped the scarf and made plans to use a different yarn when I knit the scarf with her in our mini super tiny two person KAL.
So for as much of a bust as knit night was and for as cranky as I was when I got home, I would say my day ended up really well!

We got our beans planted today! And the boy went to the grocery store bringing home yummy food and the world’s longest garden hose. Now if we get inclined to water the brush on the other side of the creek we can! And still have some hose left over. Hopefully all the seeds will take root and we will have some yummy veggies to eat in a few months.
