Eye Candy Friday – Lamb’s Pride Roasted Coffee

When the shop that my pal bunnysquirrel was working at went out of business, she called me to see if there was anything I wanted. That month I was only buying yarn in sweater quantities because let’s face it. I have more than enough single skeins of yarn laying around. ;) She located this lovely Roasted Coffee, Lamb’s Pride Worsted. I have 7 skeins of it. So now I need to find a wonderful sweater to make with it. Any ideas? :D

It’s almost Friday!

When I was at the University I scheduled Fridays off once I hit Winter Quarter of my Sophomore year. I was so productive having three day weekends and a four day work week. It gave me plenty of time to relax on the weekends and to get caught up on any work I had to do. Sometimes I truly miss that schedule. Now I love my Thursdays because I have Knit night which gets me into weekend mode and allows me to relax and hopefully make some good progress on my projects as well. :) Tonight’s group expanded back toward our regular size which was nice. I took my Vivian along and worked on that. Really now that the main pattern is rather well established it’s a much easier knit. I suppose if I hadn’t put it in time out for a month I could be much closer to finished with it but that time was well served on other projects. As it stands now I attached my fourth ball of yarn tonight. Which means I am nearing 20% completed on this sweater. Not too shabby since I didn’t truly pick this project back up until last weekend.

In other news, I got a call from the Blue Jackets today. We’ve sold 67 tickets thus far. It’s not quite as many as last year but then last year the economic crisis hadn’t crippled the Midwest. We may have sold 4 more tickets tonight at knit night. ;) So that would put us up to about 70 tickets vs last year’s 113. I am feeling much better about requesting supplies for 100 goody bags. It looks like we may be closer to giving them all away than I had originally thought. Positive thinking does work! Speaking of goody bags, I will be collecting the last of the donations this weekend and there will be a small entourage at my home on Sunday working the assembly line. Sometimes it’s a good thing to live with a process engineer. “Honey can you set up an assembly line for me right quick?” :D

In the computer world. It has not yet been thrown out the window. I am not sure if that’s a good sign or whether that has more to do with the fact that it is in the basement. The Boy removed that bit of RAM tonight and everything seems to be running ok without crashing. Well everything that is except for the Internet. Sigh. I have no idea why it can’t find the Internet and I think I screwed something up during setup. Tomorrow night I think we will wipe the hard drive and try to install it again. The excitement never ends…

Have a great weekend everyone!

Computer woes…

So once the computer recognized the hard drive last night it then proceeded to refuse to properly install Windows XP and kept throwing Blue Screens of Death. Seriously? I mean XP isn’t even installed yet it can’t be crashing already. This can’t be a good sign. Le Sigh.

Taking out a portion of the RAM tricked Windows into installing. After everything appeared to be working properly (except the internet…) we put the extra RAM back in. Perhaps that was a mistake because now, now it randomly throws stop errors and blue screens of death. I have no clue what’s going on here and am troubleshooting with Google. The boy knows less than I do. What the devil is going on?

In other news, we’ve met with two companies about installing gutter toppers on our gutters. We have two more to meet with and then we can decide. It will be nice once we get them done because well we have EIGHT trees that dump leaves onto our roof. We cleaned out the gutters 3 or 4 times last year and we truly need to do it about 5 or 6 times a year if we don’t cover the gutters. I am looking forward to getting that time back to do other things. :)

Yoga and Windows XP update

So on the agenda for this week – wash my stanky stanky yoga mat. I also need to wash those feet socks. I meant to start laundry this morning but the change in temperatures is making me sleepy so my socks weren’t clean in time for class. When I went to do a bridge one of my feet actually slipped out from under me and I may have uttered sh*t. Soo…yeah. I did a rather nice bridge off the slippery mat and just on the gym floor. I really do like the way I feel when I do yoga. Especially when everything kind of “snap, crackle, pops” into place. My current instructor is also very pro Pilates so she has us doing some Pilates moves that focus on the core. Oy! It’s not a giant secret that my core is totally out of whack. That’s pretty much why I started yoga to begin with. I talked to her after class about what I can do to build up to some of the leg movements.

When I got home from yoga the boy was stuck on installing his new hard drive that showed up today. I came to his rescue by mashing a bunch of buttons until the computer bent to my will and finally recognized his hard drive. Now it’s partitioning so it can install Windows XP. Soooo much fun. :) Hopefully soon his computer will be up and running and this laptop will be mine, all mine, once again. :D

Have a great night!

Happy Birthday to me

For those of you that don’t know 27 years ago last night there was a rather large ice storm in Frankfort Kentucky. Then 27 years ago today my mom almost fell down the driveway trying to get to the hospital for a rather tardy child that had finally decided to come out into the world.

Last night the boy and a few of my chums lured me to a Japanese restaurant where we chowed down on sushi and traditional Japanese fare. It was really sweet and a total surprise. I even got to open presents. :) The boy got me a super cool digital photo frame. As soon as I finish this blog post I will be working on filling it up with pictures we actually want to look at. ;) I also received all kinds of wonderful birthday wishes on Raverly today. Since, I don’t have much else to add I am off to play with my photos. Have a great night everyone.
