Whoosh!

My Saturday whooshed by. There was some rollerblading and some hanging out with my sister. Then there was some delivering of Christmas gifts followed by dinner making. Then lastly a good chum came over to take a gander at our taxes to figure out how we should file this year. She was over until about 11pm! Funny how days just fly by like that. I don’t have a picture to show you. :D

Have a g’night everyone. :)

Eye Candy Friday – Boxes

Today the wonderful UPS delivery man showed up with 8 large boxes. These 8 large boxes are filled with some of the goodies for Sticks N Stitches. :D I have slowly been receiving raffle prizes from generous donors and now the goody bag supplies are starting to come in. I have a feeling next week I will keep the delivery services hopping as I am expecting a few more shipments. Have you bought your tickets yet? :D

Stitch markers

Today a padded envelope showed up in my mailbox and I got very happy. You see inside this padded envelope were some very lovely stitch markers that I had been wanting for a while. And now, well, now they are mine! :D They were lovingly [right, lovingly? ;) ] hand crafted for me by AMG. Aren’t they lovely?

In which there was more snow!

It turns out that it does snow a good bit here in the Midwest winters. I just was unaware because this is only the third year I have been of driving age while living here. :) See, once I was able to drive I was heading off to college far enough South that the weather patterns changed and then I moved to the Mid Atlantic where even President Obama is surprised by their reaction to snow. For example, it might flurry tomorrow, Fairfax and Arlington county schools close before bedtime. Now that I am back in the Midwest I guess it’s time for me to learn how to drive in the snow again.

In other amusing snow related news, we had a good bit of ice mixed in with our snow last night. So when the boy was getting ready to leave for work this morning he had a thick layer of ice staring at him from his truck. I poked my head out the door and told him to just take my car since it lives in the garage and was completely clean. A good idea for not being late to work, however the snow that fell while he was at work made it a little tricksy for him to get in the driveway when he came home. :) My car has a low (ish) ground clearance. Ahh well. You can’t win ‘em all.

I hope your winter is treating you well.

Yoga Update

I may have been a bad yogi and skipped last week. I have lately taken to skipping out on events and activities when I am particularly crabby. It works well because I get a lot of cleaning done and I don’t accidentally bite the heads off people who would be caught unaware. The boy, well he’s accustomed to it. ;) At any rate, this time I was one of the 5 brave souls who battled the weather (er, ya know, drove in the snow safely) to go to class. It was really nice and my body seemed to stretch more easily this week. The only problem I seem to be having is hand placement. I feel like I am putting a lot of strain on my wrist but I am not sure what to do about it. But, I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel good. So I am happy. :D Now, I think I may curl up into bed and finish that book.
