Seaming!

Category: Knitting, Personallittlewit @ 11:59 pm

I finished seaming two things this weekend. I seamed my minimalist cardigan (action shots to come!) and that surprise I knitted last weekend. We also painted the closet, hung the shelves, put everything back in the closets, got the lawn mowed and a sundry of other tasks around the house. I began knitting the hemlock ring but somewhere I lost a stitch so I lost about 4.5 hrs of knitting time tinking back to find the lost stitch and then the re-knitting I will have to do tom’w morning. I want to have this knit up to the chart so all I have to take on the plane is the chart.

Tomorrow I am off to Utah for a family vacation. The blog will most likely be updated when I get back as there is a distinct lack of communication between my camera and the mac. (and any other computer that doesn’t have a memory card slot built in.) If any one knows how to fix this problem I would be much obliged. (Basically the cable doesn’t work, or rather when using the cable none of the computers - pc or mac - recognize the camera. Oh and I have multiple cables that don’t work, not just one. And this problem happened with my old camera too, the one that TSA stole.)

Ravelry Knit Night

Category: Ravelrylittlewit @ 11:45 pm

The Ravelry team arrived in town today for TNNA and guess whom they decided to grace with their presence?

Me! and the rest of the Clintonville Knit gang. I knew they were coming as of Wednesday and decided to keep it as a surprise for everyone else. (Well, I told one person so I could get assistance saving seats at the restaurant.) The funny thing is, even though no one *knew* all the regulars decided to show up so we had about 15 people in attendance! :) That’s a bit larger than our normal crowd but not too overwhelming. Mary-Heather, Jess and Casey arrived about 45 minutes into our knit night. There were some folks who were quite surprised! We had a grand time just sitting, knitting, drinking beer (well not me, I don’t do beer) and eating. They brought along some buttons and stickers that were passed around. I also got to see the new tri-fold handouts for advertising.

The boy rolled in after his happy hour was over to hang out for a little bit as well. He took pictures with other folks’ cameras because silly me remembered my camera but not my memory card. Alas, I do not have my own pictures. Perhaps once everyone returns home from their travels I will be able to swipe pictures from other people. For now you get text. :)

Oh and I started seaming my sweater. I must have it done before I go on vacation because it could be cold!

WIP Wednesday - Blocking My Sweater

Category: Knittinglittlewit @ 10:11 pm

I finished knitting up my sweater at knit night last week. Of course the last tidbit to do was block and seam. If you were to guess that I thought about doing it all weekend and went on my merry way completing other tasks you would be absolutely correct. Today as I was talking to my mom we realized that Park City, Utah is going to be cold next week. 50F may not seem cold unless you are coming from somewhere where it has been 80 to 90F for a couple of weeks. This was all the push I needed to finally block the sweater. I will seam it up along with my other project that I finished over the weekend, tomorrow at knit night. Then I will be able to wear my own very warm (suri merino!) handknit sweater to ward off the chill in Utah. Huzzah!

The sweater drying after being blocked.

On another note, I *love* this Suri Merino. It is a gorgeous color and stays equally beautiful when wet. So even if I get caught in a torrential downpour my sweater will still look good. :) (Priorities!) I am not sure if it was the Suri Merino or the terry cloth towel but after I patted these dry (rolled up in towel and stepped on towel to squeeze out water) the pieces were almost completely dry and the towel was soaked. :) But that means I won’t have to worry about them taking forever to dry even with the 80% humidity we have here in Ohio.

Category: Personallittlewit @ 10:01 am

1) What was I doing 10 years ago?

I was registering for my driver’s ed classes at the place up the road that had weekend classes. Of course I put it off too long and ended up doing their week long intensive (intensive is a bit of a stretch) where they had class each day for four days so that students could get their in class out of the way. I was also on the verge of completing my sophomore year of high school and unbeknownst to me I would meet the boy at parents’ night for Boy Scout Summer Camp. (He was at camp with my brother.)

2) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today?

Sand, laundry, paint, address envelopes and update the blog.

3) Snacks I enjoy:

Pretzels, cheez-its and popcorn

4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

Buy all my furniture from the Amish and possibly hire someone else to paint the office. Oh and I would install laminate floors in the office and get a really fun chair to roll around on that floor.

5) Places I have lived:

Frankfort, Kentucky; Columbus, Ohio; Arlington, VA; Silver Spring, MD; Athens, OH; Baltimore, MD; Vandalia, OH and Westerville, OH.

6) 5 peeps I wanna know more about:

Aimee, Brittany, Selvedge, Suzanne and Courtney.
