Lookie who stopped by our house for a visit today:

Ain’t she purty?
Guess what I did yesterday?
I paid off my car! Soooo excited am I!
After work I went out to eat with my mom’s best friend from HS and her parents. It was really fun catching up and we called my mom to say hi. Her best friend gave her crap for not coming out to Colorado recently so mom is thinking about possibly joining me on one of my trips back this summer.
That should be fun! All in all my trip was a good one and I made it home safely. There should be pictures of WIPs and new yarn…you know once I get around to it. Get it, a round toit…my mom has one.
Last night I found another knit night (rather a craft project night) in lovely Denver. This time I went to Fancy Tiger. It’s a great three story shop that caters to the fiber lovers and the fabric lovers. I wish I had taken the time to gawk over the fabric and patterns but yeah, my sewing machine is dusty and I owe Johnny Mustache some table runners…but you know I have at least 2 more trips out here this summer, so maybe then.
When I arrived many folks were headed to the basement for a sewing class and I was directed upstairs to the gathering space for craft project night. I really like how their store is totally inclusive. Many of the folks there last night were knitting but one lady brought some sewing and others were discussing how crocheting a particular object would in fact be much easier. It really feels like anyone could wander in and be at home. I know I had a great time. I then wandered downstairs where I picked up some Eco Wool for a Hemlock Ring blanket and some Make Me Happy to round out the 2 balls I already have.
In other awesomeness, this shop is open on Sundays until 6pm. I was saddened when I wasn’t able to make it to the shop on Sunday due to my hour flight delay in Dallas. The knitting here in Denver has been great. I hope that I can make it out again the next time I am in town!

I have been thinking about doing this for awhile and now I am finally taking the plunge so here’s how it works:
I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange.
I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise!
What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.
Now for my variations on the rules… Nothing major, just a couple little things to take into account the things that I know about (at least some of) the readers of this blog…
1.) In your comment, tell me a little bit about yourself. There are so many types of crafts that I do that I’d like to have some idea of what you’ll like before I make your gift. (i.e. if you’re highly sensitive to fragrance, a scent bottle with an extra BPAL imp might be a really bad gift… On the other hand, I’ve spent quite a bit of time in forums where it would be the perfect gift…)
2.) As much as I like the idea of recipients paying it forward through their blogs, I know that not everyone has or wants a blog. If you’re one of those people who has no blog and no desire to create one, you can still participate if you post the promise in an online forum where you participate. Include the link in a follow-up comment so that I can check out the forum. (Hopefully, one or more of your PIF recipients will be bloggers who can continue the blog part of the exchange… maybe the rest will continue it in other forums that they frequent.)
I took this from MysticSpiral’s blog and am not editing it much at all!
I look forward to learning more about you.

Yesterday on the plane I cast on for a pair of socks and got the toes all knit up.
Tomorrow I may begin the pattern on the foot. I also worked on the fronts of my sweater. Much knitting was accomplished. I had every intention of going to some of the local yarn shops however my flight was delayed in Dallas so even though there are at least TWO shops in Denver open on Sundays I didn’t make it in time. Last night I was forcing myself to stay awake so my body would adjust to the time schedule but without fail I was up of my own volition at 545am. I am not sure when that happened last. When my alarm went off at 6am I was already in the shower and had called the boy to say good morning.
After work today I decided to hit up one of those shops, LambShoppe. It is a very lovely shop, big, open with lots and lots of yarn. They also have great lighting and 4 tables to knit at along with 2 cozy chairs. This is a wonderful shop. The table I sat at ended up being the table where a sock knitting class was taught. I sat it in on their class (well sort of, I was knitting on my sweater and I already know how to knit socks) and met one of the store owners. If I lived in Denver I could definitely see making this shop my local yarn shop. Oh and did I mention their hours? 9am to 9pm Monday thru Thursday! How’s that for making sure the working class can get to your shop?
I managed to finish off the little ball of yarn I had on one front so now they are about 5″ long, just another 8″ to go!
I also knit one more round on my socks but I forgot the pattern back in the hotel so I will have to knit the pattern round tomorrow, or tonight if I don’t fall asleep first. Oh and of course I bought some yarn. It’s pretty pretty and one of the skeins is uber bright. More pictures will come some day.
For now I think I shall finish checking e-mail and then either knit a bit or go to bed.
