Eye Candy Friday - Daffodils
Today’s eye candy are some of the beautiful daffodils that are sprouting up all over my yard. The previous owners loved flowers so I get to spend this summer seeing what beautiful things come up.
This blog is about reclaiming my anonymity…Oh wait, I am writing a blog.

The boy and I are headed to Maryland Sheep and Wool in about 3 weeks and I am already starting to get very excited. Many of the Ravelry Helpers from the East Coast and Midwest (along with one West Coaster!) are all planning to meet up in Baltimore. We will be having a giant slumber party at Suzanne’s, that will include myself and the boy if we can’t crash at his cousin’s place just north of Baltimore. The ladies have informed the boy that if he does come to the slumber party his toenails must be painted. If that happens I promise there will be pictures.
At the festival we will of course look at the fiber goodness, pet animals and help out Jess and Casey with any tasks they need done. There is also a rumour that there will be a Ravelry party Saturday night and we will of course assist with that as well. It will be so great to finally meet folks in person as well as catch up with old long cherished friends. I am also hoping to pop into one of my favorite yarn shops from Baltimore and try out the ones I missed before I moved. I know Cloverhill will have a booth at the festival so I will go check them out there.
Now dear readers I need your assistance. I gave up yarn for Lent and have yet to buy any since Easter. I want to get something lovely as well as try something new. I also want to take advantage of the yarn accessibility at the festival but alas I do not know which yarns to pounce on. Can you recommend your favorite yarns or yarns that I really must try at least once in my life? I would be much obliged!

I worked on my niece’s sweater and got the two fronts to match in length. Then I used ALL the leftover yarn I garnered to knit one additional row on the 2nd sleeve. I clearly need more yarn. Now I must wait patiently for my saving grace to send me the little bits of yarn she has left over from her socks.
See how the fronts are the same length? So superfly! (Yes, I just said superfly [and again!].) The very beautiful stitch markers allowed me to count rows to make sure that the fronts were the same length. Such a novel idea!
In other news the boy has begun “construction” on my niece’s birthday gift from him. It is so super cool! I can’t wait to post pictures after she receives it.

I had a bit of a reality check this weekend (don’t you hate those?) while buying a new porch light and locks for our house. It appears that small items add up quickly. [I know who would have thunk it?] So I give to you 10 things I would buy for the house right now if you know I didn’t have other bills…
If you know of any reasonably priced places to buy these items feel free to drop a line.
Do you have any dream projects for your home?

Today the boy and I went out for our first ride together on his motorcycle. It was a very fun ride. Driving down the main drag at a cool 25 mph I was able to even just sit back and relax without having to hang on to him tightly. We still have to work on looking to the inside on turns.

I just like to look around too much I guess.
We also made it up to about 70 mph at one point and well we’re both alive. That picture was taken after we got off the bike, so clearly we are both alive and well. Perhaps on the next outing I will brave enough to let him hit the highway. Of course since I did complete the Motorcycle Ohio safety course and received my license, being on the back of the bike really just makes me want to go get my own. So if any of you know someone selling a Honda Shadow 600 in great condition with reasonable mileage, drop me a line!
