Tai’s Hat

Category: FO, Knittinglittlewit @ 9:02 pm

My friend requested a knit hat for her baby for Christmas. Hopefully this one will do the trick. It may be a little big for her head now at 10 mos but I am sure she will be able to grow into it.

Description: Tai’s Hat
Pattern: Kim’s Hats by Kim Hamlin
Yarn used: 50 grams of Artyarns Merino - Colorway 105 (100% Merino Wool) 50g / 104 yds Machine Washable
Needle Size: Size 8 Denise Interchangeable Circulars
Modifications: Accidental modifications only. I had to tweak a number of things because my yarn was running out.
Finished Size: Child - 18″ circumference
Date Started: 12/16/2007
Date Completed:
12/19/2007
Notes:
I totally borked the pattern because I missed an instruction. Instead of having just a garter rib the entire hat is garter stitch. I also had to shorten the length of the ear flaps because the yarn was running out. And by running out I mean I had to tink 2 rows to have enough yarn to bind off! :) But it’s done and hopefully it keeps her head warm.

OSU Game Day Scarf

Category: FO, Knitting, Ravelrylittlewit @ 11:32 pm

The yarn for this scarf was purchased for the boy but on further consideration I realized that he doesn’t want knits. So who would be the next best recipient? Perhaps that lady that taught him to love all things Buckeye? Hopefully she enjoys it! (PS Don’t tell her, it’s a surprise!)

Description: Chevron Scarf in Buckeye Colorway
Pattern: Chevron Scarf by Joelle Hoverson
Yarn used: 85 grams of Claudia Hand Painted Yarns, Fingering - Colorway Buckeye (100% Merino Wool) 50g / 175 yds Machine Washable
Needle Size: Size 5 Denise Interchangeable Circulars
Modifications: I used 2 skeins of the same colorway (instead of 2 skeins of different colorways) and half the yarn called for in the pattern. I also altered the pattern to multiples of 3 to make it narrower and to conserve yarn. This was modeled after gibsongirl’s project on Ravelry.
Finished Size: 78″ x 5″ (after blocking) 63″ x 4″ (pre-block)
Date Started: 11/16/2007
Date Completed:
12/13/2007
Notes:
I like this scarf and would make it again. I am interested in trying it with two different colorways to see how the colors play together. Some day! :)

Come one come all!

Hear ye, hear ye!

For all of you lads and lassies interested in attending the Sticks N Stitches event at the Columbus Blue Jackets Sunday Feb 10th, I have a message.

Please order your tickets. I have been informed by the Blue Jackets that the sooner we order our tickets the higher the likelihood that we will all sit together. (Something about they can only hold aside so many seats without a down payment.) As of right now they have only sold 6 or 7 tickets. :( I know it’s the holiday season but if it is at all possible for you to order your tickets now, please do. I am looking forward to seeing everyone there!
