Description: Toe-up socks
Pattern: On Your Toes Socks by Ann Budd
Yarn used: .6 skeins of Cherry Tree Hill Supersock Merino - Colorway Brights (100% Merino Wool) 100g / 420 yds Machine Washable
Needle Size: Size 2 Boye Metal dpns
Modifications: I made the striping do what I want. I swear…ok so I learned valuable tension lessons and in the end I did kind of make the striping do what I want.
Finished Size: Adult Small
Date Started: August 2007
Date Completed: 11/19/2007
Notes: So I am a goober and I missed the part in the instructions where it said “Needle 3: knit” so I ribbed the front and back for about 2 inches or so before I realized that it just looked weird compared with other FOs. After frogging that back and restarting the ribbing it looked much nicer and much more comfortable!

I totally mooched this from BSQ - hope she doesn’t mind
I knit. No magazine subscriptions at the moment but I buy Interweave Knits everytime it comes out. Which reminds me I need to go get the Winter issue… All my pattern books are on Ravelry
I enjoy most colours - most especially jewel and earth tones. My stash should give a good idea of the colours I like - pay no attention to the yarns inherited from my Grandmother
No food or fiber allergies but milk chocolate and dark chocolate upset my stomach. Nuts are not my friends. White chocolate is a guilty pleasure as well as white chocolate covered pretzels and anything with peanut butter in it. No coffee or tea for me I am boring and love water
I also like to cook and try new things, however I do not like broccoli, asparagus or brussel sprouts. In case you were wondering…
Aside from knitting/fiber related things, I also collect shot glasses and other odd trinkets that catch my eye. I also pretend to sew, however there might be a slight backlog in items to be sewn… When I do find time to read I tend towards women’s studies or military history books both fiction and non fiction.
Oh and my next two fiber related skills to learn are spinning and cables. Someday I hope to figure out what I screwed up with Intarsia
If you need a spy, contact the boy through my e-mail, just put his name in the subject and I will assume it has something to do with the sekrit pal exchange (clarification on address or something
) I have also added my amazon wishlist to the spreadsheet.
I have finished a project! Hooray! It’s a neckwarmer for the boy to wear while he rides his motorcycle. Basically to cover the exposed skin between the top of the jacket and the bottom of the helmet. I had intended to make it as a surprise but after one particularly chilly ride he came home and asked for one. I finally cast it on when the temperatures really began to drop out here. Hopefully it will live up to his expectations.

Description: Motorcycle Neckwarmer
Pattern: adapted from Helmetliner by Bonnie Long
Yarn used: 1.75 skeins of Free Style by Dalegarn - Colorway 1346, Lot #0090 (100% Wool) 50g / 80m Machine Washable
Needle Size: Size 5 Denise Interchangeable needles
Modifications: I made the neckwarmer to fit the boy’s neck and nose sizes. Knit for about 2 inches and had him try it on, then decreased it to make it more snug around the neck. Knit until it went to his chin then used the sewn bind off.
Finished Size: 17 inches will stretch to 22 inches
Date Started: October 2007
Date Completed: 11/11/2007
Notes: This hasn’t been road tested yet so I can recommend it for use on the motorcycle at this time. Once he gets new tires on the bike it will go out for a test ride and I will let you know how it turned out.
It appears that I have been absent.
Knit night at Temptations last Wednesday was pleasant. It’s a nice group and the shop is cozy. You should go if you live in the area.
My exciting news from last Thursday was that I finally got the official flier from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Hooray! I have updated the info on the Sticks N Stitches page of my site. If you would like a copy of the official flier and order form post a message here or use my contact page and I will e-mail them to you. I am really hoping we can get a large group! Also, I have word that they are trying to start some Sticks N Stitches in other cities. The marvels of Ravelry and condensing crafters into one area.
Monday night we had our North Side Knit Night at Panera again. There were 5 of us and it was great to sit back and chat with fellow Ravelers while we knitted. Roll call for the blogs are as follows: Dharmawrites, DaintyKitty, MysticSpiral and Mel. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again next week!
