Metallica

Category: Livejournallittlewit @ 9:17 pm

I heart Metallica and GodSmack! rarr! Wednesday Eric and I drove to Louisville, KY to watch them play in the Louisville Cardinals, Freedom Hall. It was super great and was in the round and was such a small venue that we could see the artists faces! yay for concerts in small towns, well not that Louisville is really small but its heavy metal crowd is. Yay I’m super excited about that and I can’t wait to go see them again. Of course its not a Metallica concert without some crazy women flashin everybody. Some guy behind tried to give me ten bucks to show mine but I told him that the laced up sleeves on my shirt was as wild as I was going to get. hehe. Ok I could go on and on about Metallica but I’m super tired and my maman is here and we need to go spend some quality time together on this our last Mom’s weekend at OU.

workin on the chain gang

Category: Livejournallittlewit @ 8:53 pm

heya all you wonderful people out there in livejournal land. I have returned! and do you know what happens pretty much everytime I return? well it’s one of two things…Yes! you are correct. I have successfully completed another program for my C++ class. I know I’m excited. I even was able to turn this one in on time! It was a personal goal cause he’s so nice about giving me extra time that I said golly I should prob get this one in on time. Perchance in some near yet distant future I may even turn one in early! gasp! I know! that would be crazy. but I think I just may be able to pull it off one of these days. Mad props to Chris Porter for spending about 2 hours with me at BW3s yesterday night figuring out what it was that I needed to do. It couldn’t have been done without him. well it could have…but it would have taken longer and I def would have had a much larger headache. :) yay for chris!

in other news - I fell down and went boom trying to walk down a wet slippery grassy hill to get to my car rather than using my brain and walking around to my car via the sidewalk like a normal person…yep so now my poor cute white gap capris, yes those, the ones that look like european capris now have a big ol’ green spot on the buttocks region that I am presently trying to remove. It shall be done for they will receive a cold washing tonight when I return to my chambers. probably after I do the dishes and put the rest of my clothes away. yes, I know I lead a very exciting and enthralling life. perhaps Julia Stiles will jump at the chance to play me, her look a like in my life film. That will be a great little independent number for her to work on. hehe.

Well I believe that’s all for now. I apologize to the quiz junkies for not having any new quizzes for you to play with. I will pass along some more soon, but for now I am signing off. Adieu.

my forever estranged relationship with programming

Category: Livejournallittlewit @ 10:21 pm

Hi there all y’all with your pea pickin little hearts! So today is Vicki’s birthday. Yay! Happy 21st Vicki! It is also friday night at 957 and all I really want to do is go to sleep by 11. So unless I get a phone call from a certain someone I think this girl is crashin early. I cleaned my room today AND Emily finally finished my new double thick fleece blanket and it is adorable and soft and I can’t wait to sleep with it! In other exciting news today after my dumbass accidentally deleted my entire program right after I finally got it working right I then retyped it and got it working again! Yay I rule! I am the smartest programmer alive! … ok well maybe not but I am far more advanced than Homer, I know where the ANY key is. :oP I’ve decided that programming and I have a love/hate relationship. I love finally figuring it out and it hates me figuring it out. So it’s kinda like my relationship with guys! ;X! hehe. ok I really don’t have anything important to write, not like the rest of it was important oh wait no! I forgot!

So the first round of doctor’s appointments turns out that I need physical therapy to fix my back cause my trapezus muscles are so tight that they 1. give me pain and spasm and 2. gave my doc a hand cramp tryin to massage em out. So Thursday I went to Hudson (our local student health center) and gave them my prescription and they set me up for my eval for next Weds. So hopefully my back will get better!!! That would make me sooooooooooo happy. Oh and also my doctor rules cause she wrote me a note that excuses me from my class where I have to sit in front of the computer for two hours cause it’s too much strain on my back. So HAHA take that you stupid CS 120 instructors. [sorry I have some mild hostility towards those instructors!] oooh ooh more exciting news! Sara moved back into johnson! :o) I’m so happy I can hang out with her more often again! She and I went shopping on weds to get some carpet for her new room and then we went to bath & body works and got stuck in the Aromatherapy section. I got some new very lovely lotion called Jasmine Vanilla and it smells wonderful. I also bought some hand soap that is called Orange Ginger very refreshing smell. I think I like the aromatherapy section, but I’m not quite ready yet to fully admit it. hehe. ok so now for what y’all are waitin for:

The Newest Quiz - What Kind of Procrastinator Are You?

http://quiz.ivillage.com/work/tests/procrastinator.htm

Eager Beaver

For you, every idea that comes up is appealing. Every cause seems worthy. Every activity sounds great. Every person needs you. News flash: Nobody can do it all! Though you’re brilliant when you’re interested in a project, the trouble is you have too many to keep track of. You procrastinate because you’re overwhelmed, overbooked and overall too busy. You want to live life to the fullest, but all your lofty ambitions make you feel like the world’s worst procrastinator.

Quick Tip: First of all, take a look at the activities and priorities in your life and make sure your schedule’s not stuffed with things that aren’t that important to you. What can you eliminate? Even if you can only drop one meeting or activity a month, that’s a step to finding the time to complete the important goals in your life.

Then start scheduling “just say no” time. Block out a day, or a portion of a day, to catch up — planning, goal setting, errand running or reevaluating — and decline invitations, activities, meetings or requests during that time. Don’t answer the phone messages or emails (unless you’re getting caught up on returning them). Giving yourself the time to focus on the most important tasks will make it easier to complete them.

Prioritize. Start making a list of projects you’ve been meaning to do and decide which three need to be done by the end of this month. Writing lists helps you see you have far fewer projects than the million you thought you were juggling.

back in a-town

Category: Livejournallittlewit @ 11:20 pm

I heart programming! well not so much heart but it’s not so bad cause I feel like I kind of understand this time around. and mad props to dan, kevin and linds for helping me figure out what on earth is going on. maybe I’ll change my major and become a cs person…haha not a chance when I’m this close to graduation but maybe I will tell my parents that just to see what kind of reaction I’ll get from them. hehe.

in other news: yay for sara moving back to the big J. lincoln is just too rowdy if you’re not a freshman or a slacker sophomore. :X hehe. but anyways it’s cool cause now I can hang out with her more.

saturday night was fun times with chris and kevin. I do in fact heart billiards but I suck at it except for sinking chris’s balls and knocking kevin’s out of harm’s way. too bad I can’t do all of that intentionally. oh and an FYI applebees drink specials only last until 9pm…so no half priced appetizers along with $1 off drinks…oh and their mixed drinks are mad expensive (just an observation my wallet made) best part of the night had to be when we were all staring at kevin’s computer trying to figure out how to get my program to work. they both have excuses cause its been a while since they took any kind of programming but I … well … I’m a bit slow. :o) I dunno why that entertained me so, but it did. that and falling asleep on the bed so I could sober up. yay for back rubs.

easter sunday my mom thought it would be swell to make us all go to 8am mass. so I was rather grouchy when we got home and then I couldn’t find my easter basket and I didn’t want my picture taken cause all I really wanted was to crawl back in to my warm bed so I did about 10 and I woke up at 130 feelin better except now I had to rush and get my laundry done. but as you can see I’m back in Athens so my bro and I made it ok. but it’s time to unpack so I stop trippin over things! :o)

update and more quizzes…

Category: Livejournallittlewit @ 3:36 pm

ok folks sorry I haven’t been the faithful journal writer I purported to be…see for starters I don’t like to wash my underwear in public so if I’m being moody or depressed I probably won’t be on here…it’s a family thing I s’pose since technically I spent my formative years in the south and you know how southern families are…and if ya don’t, read Prince of Tides, then you’ll know more than you wanted. Anywho. I was out of state for a few days because my Great Uncle Tom passed away (cancer of the throat from years of smoking) and I went with my parents to Springfield, Massachusetts for the funeral. This happens to be the home of my mom’s mom’s family. Let me just tell ya if at all possible this cat is moving out East to be closer to these folks. It’s always a pleasant visit out there even if it has to be a funeral. I am at home in Columbus now for the Easter holiday and I shall return to Athens on Sunday evening.

In other news: I found more quizzes on Adam’s profile so here’s the latest results :P

(gonna have to rent this one although it sounds like something I may be interested in)

[can't complain too much about being likened to Gandhi, he's a rather admirable fellow, man if only I was really like him. :o)]

oh and in other other news: I have successfully written one program…working on the second one. yay me. ok time to go back to the joys that are C++
